Who is "a Thing for Another?"
We are the network of people working to rescue & redeem orphaned children in Kampala.
Outside Uganda, people serve by committing finances to support shelter/basic needs, school fees, or sustainability projects, or by administration assistance.
Within Uganda, people serve by helping the children with a loving home, care, and supporting their endeavor to be in school & have the best future possible.

Primary Volunteers - Kampala, Uganda
Amos KamyaAmos and his wife Dora are currently caring for nine children (on top of two of their own)- many of whom become a part of the family year-round or on breaks from school- informally adopted as their own. He is a pastor by vocation, and has a congregation which naturally extends into the community surrounding him. His former profession was teaching.

Patrick Ssenyonjo
Patrick found a child in need and having had his own needs met, never turned away a child that he could help in some way. William has joined his side to care for children in a home (aka "RUHU") that now numbers 50 children, together with 3 volunteers (including them, and a mother-care-taker). They also reach out to orphaned children in the slums, and are ever hoping to reach the needy.

Donors & Managers!
There have been between 1-2 dozen people committed at various levels to funding the children's school fees, sustainability projects and helping with basic needs. Some people have it on their heart to follow a child & support them, others prefer a one-time pledge to larger sustainability projects, and still others fill the void by helping with administration (finances, promotion, gift cards, etc).
Without these people- the leaves on the AT4A tree- we couldn't do what we do! |
Jamie Macari
Jamie has been pulled into the vortex of helping people help the children in Uganda since an unrelated year long internship with the Uganda Olympic Committee in 2010. Beyond taking care of administration, he primarily works with the leaders in Uganda, staying in touch and keeping an accountable network of people & NGO's- all of whom have the goal of helping the children.
