"BIG" GODFREY
Godfrey’s story:
Godfrey lost both of his parents at a young age. He was sent to live with his grandmother who loved him at first, but then she started mistreating him. Sometimes his grandmother would beat him, and would not provide any food. Godfrey’s grandmother expected him to bring water for them. The water was a great distance away from where they lived, so he spent most of his time carrying water.
Godfrey wanted to play with other children, but his grandmother would not allow him to. She expected him to work for her, and she would lock him outside so he did not bother her.
Godfrey’s grandmother would tell him, "No one will ever love you. You are not going to amount to anything."
Godfrey left and lived on the streets for 2 years, but recently he came to the RUHU (Rising Up Hope, Uganda) safe house and is doing well adjusting with the other children.
Godfrey’s dreams:
Godfrey hopes to one day become a pilot. He would also like to help other vulnerable children when he is older so they will not have to go through what he has endured.
AT4A moment:
At AT4A we get to join RUHU to help Godfrey live a new story! We get to tell Godfrey that he is loved, and there is a place where he’s wanted; a safe place where he can play with other children, and possibly even go to school. We already know Godfrey is loved, and, together, we can help him realize he is someone. Godfrey is a handsome, loving boy who wants to help others.
